Artificial Intelligence (AI): where to start?

Modified on Fri, 13 Mar at 10:34 AM

Understand briefly and definitively what artificial intelligence (AI) is and how it works.

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

AIs, the nomenclature used to refer to artificial intelligences, are increasingly present in our daily lives. They emerged with the aim of helping humans execute certain tasks that could be optimized with assistance. This is the case for repetitive tasks, spell checking, brainstorming ideas, suggestions on a topic, and analyzing images or texts, for example.

By definition, artificial intelligence is a technology found in electronic devices, such as computers and cell phones, where a program executes writing, reading, analysis, and creation actions following instructions provided by a person. We call these instructions prompts, which are mostly written texts indicating to the AI what it should execute.

The idea is that the more detailed the prompt, the better the result obtained by the artificial intelligence. Furthermore, AI also works as a machine learning model. This means that it builds better responses by analyzing examples provided to it. Thus, to ensure that the artificial intelligence comes as close as possible to a perfect result, it is recommended to train it using examples and prompts.

How does Artificial Intelligence work in practice?

AIs are tools in constant evolution, mainly because they use machine learning techniques to learn and improve their responses. Thus, we can propose that artificial intelligence works through an exchange of information, where we offer examples and prompts, and it returns shaped and detailed information specifically for you and your environment.

With this, we conclude that AIs are trainable technologies, meaning that at the beginning of its use, it will require more information. However, over time, it will already have the history to access and base its responses, in order to make them as aligned with your reality as possible.

How can AI commercially contribute to your routine?

As mentioned in the introduction of this article, the goal of artificial intelligence is to optimize activities. Thinking at an operational level for commercial use, it can be used to provide data analysis, forecasts, recommendations, and reviews on company matters, for example.

Therefore, start by evaluating which tasks in your daily routine could be performed by an AI. Check out some examples:

  • Perform and verify budget calculations;
  • Review text spelling;
  • Offer recommendations based on data present in Reports;
  • Indicate favorable scenarios for investments;
  • Predict results in the delivery of a company department.

Remember to always provide well-constructed prompts and examples to obtain the best results.

Is there more than one AI format?

The answer is yes!

Currently, there are 2 known formats: the predictive model and the generative model. Check the table below for the main differences between them:

PREDICTIVE AIGENERATIVE AI
Uses analysis to identify patterns and predict behaviors or events.Uses prompts to create content, such as new ideas and formats.
Main tool used: machine learningMain tool used: prompts
Examples: Siri, Alexa, Google AssistantExamples: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot

Did you know that Checklist Fácil has a new module, Smart Response? It is a generative artificial intelligence that will make your visual inspections up to 60% more agile and precise. Check out more about this news by clicking here.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

 1. How does Artificial Intelligence store my data?

AI is data-driven; for this reason, when a new tool involving the technology is created, it goes through an entire process of testing and monitoring by an IT infrastructure team, always prioritizing security and user information when using the tool. Therefore, the artificial intelligences used by Checklist Fácil do not store submitted personal data. All information provided is used for the purpose of responding to the request and is not retained after the interaction ends.

 2. Can AI leak my data?

On the part of the tool used, it is the duty of the security team to ensure control of user data during use. With this in mind, an encryption system was adopted as a measure to prevent such leaks.

 3. Can I fully trust the answers provided by Artificial Intelligence?

By applying prompts correctly as instructed, answers tend to be of high quality, as AI improves its results through training, specifically through constant use. However, as we follow ChatGPT's privacy policies and terms of use to protect user data, while Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool, human review of the answers is indispensable.

 4. Is it safe to provide my data to the AI?

By following ChatGPT's privacy policies and terms of use, it is guaranteed that user data remains protected under the Data Protection Law. For this reason, we recommend user caution in avoiding the disclosure of data that may be confidential. However, the transmission of any other data is secure.

 5. Can Artificial Intelligence responses be outdated?

Many AI models are trained with data up to certain periods; cases of outdated information may occur, especially when considering recent important events. However, as the technology is trained with the submission of new data by the user, it can update itself on these events during an interaction.

 6. Is the database where the AI searches for information reliable?

Artificial Intelligences do not access databases in real time; they are updated and trained with public and licensed data up to certain periods. For this reason, its use is not recommended as the sole search source, especially for crucial decisions.
